PokéPark Kanto Tickets: How to Know Exactly When They Go On Sale
PokéPark Kanto – the world’s first permanent outdoor Pokémon theme park – is finally becoming a reality in Tokyo, Japan. The park is set to open on February 5, 2026, inside Yomiuriland on the outskirts of Tokyo, and demand for tickets is already absolutely wild.
If you’ve tried to figure out when tickets go on sale, how to buy them, and whether you even qualify for the current rounds, you’ll know: it’s confusing, it changes, and booking sites love to crash at the worst possible moment.
That’s exactly why we created our PokéPark Kanto ticket alert – so you don’t have to live on refresh.
In this guide, we’ll break down how ticket sales work so far, why they’re so hard to get, and how our alerts can help you be ready for the next wave of tickets.
What Is PokéPark Kanto?
PokéPark Kanto is a dedicated Pokémon-themed area inside Yomiuriland, featuring:
Pokémon Forest – a lush outdoor forest trail filled with hidden Pokémon and interactive elements.
Sedge Town – a bustling “trainer town” with shops, shows, attractions, and Pokémon meet-and-greets.
It’s designed to feel like stepping into the Kanto region in real life, with tickets also including entry to the wider Yomiuriland park.
When Do PokéPark Kanto Tickets Go On Sale?
Initial ticket release (Japan residents)
The first major sale started via an online lottery system:
Lottery registration opened: 6:00 p.m. JST on November 21, 2025
Visit dates covered: February 5 – March 31, 2026
System: You register for the lottery, then winners are drawn and notified later.
For residents of Japan, ticket sales are handled directly through the official PokéPark Kanto website, and require:
Creating an account on the official site
SMS verification using a mobile phone that can receive texts in Japan
Ongoing monthly lotteries
Tickets aren’t just dropped once and gone forever. Instead, there’s a rolling lottery system:
From January 2026 onwards, each month from the 1st–12th, there’s a lottery period
Those lotteries are usually for visits three months later (for example, a January lottery covers April visits)
Winners are notified toward the end of the month and must pay by the end of that same month
This means new chances to get tickets keep appearing – but you need to know exactly when each lottery window opens and closes.
What About International Visitors?
If you live outside Japan, things work a bit differently.
The official site directs overseas visitors to a separate English-language external booking site for tickets. That page has been changing from “coming soon” to live booking and back as they’ve been stress-testing and rolling out sales – so timing is everything.
Because of the demand, the international booking site has:
Crashed or gone down under heavy traffic
Offered very limited slots when it is live
Opened and closed bookings without a lot of advance warning
That’s exactly the scenario where alerts are gold – you don’t want to be the person who finds out… after everything sells out again.

Planned to be available from summer 2026
📝 Important: Ticket prices can change and are date-dependent, so always double-check the latest info on the official site before booking.
Important Restrictions You Should Know (Especially for Families)
Pokémon Forest looks magical… but it’s also physically demanding.
To get in, you must:
Be able to walk up a 110-step staircase
Be able to handle a hilly forest trail without assistance
Because of that, children under 5 and guests who can’t manage the stairs or trail safely are not allowed into Pokémon Forest, even with helpers. Those guests can still enjoy Sedge Town instead.
If you’re planning a trip with young kids, this could affect which ticket makes sense for you (and is a big reason the Town Pass exists).
Why Are PokéPark Kanto Tickets So Hard to Get?
A few reasons:
Huge global hype – It’s the first permanent outdoor Pokémon park anywhere in the world.
Lottery-based access – You’re not just clicking “buy”; you often have to apply, wait, and hope.
Limited capacity – Particularly for Pokémon Forest, where the experience is more controlled and physical.
Glitchy booking under load – Early waves of ticket sales have seen overloaded sites, broken payment pages, and “coming soon” messages appearing mid-sale.
So if you just randomly check the site when you remember, chances are you’ll miss a window – or hit it while it’s down.

FAQ: PokéPark Kanto Tickets
Can international visitors buy PokéPark Kanto tickets?
Yes, but the process is separate. International visitors are directed to an English external ticket site linked from the official PokéPark Kanto page. Availability and timings for that site may differ from the Japan-only lottery.
Do I need a Japanese phone number to enter the ticket lottery?
If you’re using the Japan-resident lottery, you do. The official lottery requires SMS verification via a phone that can receive texts in Japan. This is mainly intended for people living in Japan.
Are tickets for PokéPark Kanto transferable?
Rules around resale and transfer are strict. The official site forbids buying tickets for resale, and theme parks in Japan are generally very strict about reselling or transferring tickets. Always check the latest terms on the official site before planning to share or resell anything.
Can young kids visit PokéPark Kanto?
Yes, but with limitations. Children under 5 cannot enter Pokémon Forest for safety reasons, though they can still enjoy Sedge Town. A Town Pass option (Sedge Town only) is designed with this in mind and is planned to launch in summer 2026.
